The 3 Types of Verbs – Linking Verbs
The 3 main types of verbs are Action Verbs, Linking Verbs, and Helping Verbs. Linking Verbs tell us something about the subject by linking it with a noun or adjective in the sentence. Hence they are also called state-of-being verbs. Circle the Linking Verbs in the sentences below.
Teach your students that all verbs are not action verbs with this set of linking verb worksheets. Third grade students will be challenged to use the linking verbs am, are, is, was, and were in a fill in the blank sentence.
